FIRES.

The City Fire Brigade received a call to 754 Cumberland street at 2.14 p.m. yesterday, and on arrival found that a fire had broken out in a five-roomed house, owned and occupied by Mr J. J. Trownson. The flames had a good hold when the brigade arrived oa the scene, and one of the bedrooms and a portion of the roof were badly damaged before the fire was extinguished, and the other part of the building suffered to some extent by smoke. The lire started from a set-in copper in the yard, built against the wall of the house. The building- was insured for £150 in the Alliance Office, and the furniture for £75 in the same company. On Thursday night a fire broke wit in a store and outhouse at the Middlemarch Creamery. The fire had a good hold before it was discovered, and nothing could bo done to save the building, which was speedily burned to the ground. The oaaso of the outbreak is unknown.
