HARRIERS.
—*~ Some IS members of the Pacific Harriers ran. from the Bungalow Tea Rooms on Saturday. Paper being dispensed with, Captain Gray led his psck along the beach to Lawyer's Head. A game of football at Tomahawk on the sands was enjoyed by the members, who returned) homo via Tainui road and Tahuna. The club wa-s afterwards the guest of vice-president Mr W. H. Outram. The St. Kilda Harriers brought their season to a close on Saturday with a run from Wesley Hall, Musselburgh. The trail led round Tainui, across Lawyer's Head, and down into Tomahawk Beach. After this hills around the lagoons had been skirted, a fast ran home was. made. l"he club afterwards entertained a large number of friends to tea, and a very enjoyable social evening was spent. The Dunedin Anglican Harriers held their Three-mile Championship and Sealed Handicap at Wmgatui on Saturday, under ideal weather conditions. The field was well bunched passing the stand for the last lap, but hero J. B. Hill asserted his superiority, and, running strongly, ran home an easy winner by over 200 yards from Pu Hill, with Fail 50 yards away, third. Time, 18min 45sec. J. B. Hill also woo, the Sealed Handicap from scratch, but, aa no runner can take more than one prize, it goes to Walker. Results: —Onsnrpianship.—J. B. Hill (18min 45s<-c), 1; B. Hill (19min 30sec), 2; V. Pail (19min 55sec), 3. Sealed Handicap.—Walker (handicap 2nrin 30see), 1; J. M'Dowel (handicap lmin 45sec), 2. The winner, who is only 17, has won the three club races this year, and shows promise of developing into a first-class runner.
Tlhe Civil Service Harriers hold their weekly run from Mcsgiel on Saturday. Paper waa dispensed with, and Captain Mong led tL pack towards "Wiugatxri, thence across country towards Wairongoa and back to Mosgiel, via the North Taieri road.
The Dunedin Harriers held their closing rua on Saturday from the Commercial Hotel, Green Island, as th© guests of the committee. There was a good master of members, and a omart pace was se* across country towards Green Island Beach. The trail finally ledl on to the beach, where some closely contested! sprints were run off. The paok returned homo via the Brighton road, and did full justice to the repaat supplied by their hosts. An enjoyable outing waa terminated by am hour's entertainment at. the hotel. The Oaversham Harriers held two races at l<Vrrbury Park on Saturday. The results were as follow.—44oyds—J. Brown 1, J&. Crimp 2, A. Brown 8; 220 yds—A. Andansoni X, M. Brown 2, S. Orimp 8.
