The United States is considering commandeering for service between Australia and the United States a Dutch ship now held up at an American port. PARCELS FOR PRISONERS. DESPATCH SUSPENDED. The Press Bureau states that parcels for prisoners in Asiatic Turkey except Magnesia are suspended, but letters and money orders ,are still being forwarded. GERMAN WAR LOAN. COPENHAGEN, September 8. (Received Sept.. 9, at 5.35 p.m.) A German 5 per cent, war loan of 10 milliards of marks is being issued. . SOLDIERS' PAY. INCREASES NOT YET GIVEN. LONDON, September 8. (Received Sept. 9, at 5.5 p.m.) The newspaper statements regarding increases in soldiers' pay were unauthorised and inaccurate. An official announcement will be made shortly. FIRST AUSTRALIAN DIVISION. '• UNABLE TO GET HOME. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. MELBOURNE, September 8. In the Senate, Mr Pearce, Minister of Defence, said there were not sufficient recruits to enable leave to come home to be given to members of the First Australian Division. FOREIGNERS IN' HUNGARY. EXPULSION DECIDED ON. AMSTERDAM, September'B. (Received Sept. 9, at 11.5 p.m.) The Hungarian Government's intention to expel all foreigners has angered Germany. Many Berlin families are living in Hungarian cities because of the better food conditions.
