His Honor Mr Justice Sim will leave Dunoditi on Monday to take tho West Coast circuit sittings. Constable Milne has been transferred from tho city to South Dunedin. Miss G. M. Webster, who h;\s, been appointed by tho Defence Department us hospila.l instructor in such arts as basket and raffia work, has gono to Hanmer to instruct tho soldiers at the Queen Mary Hospital. Mr W. G. M'Dowell, formerly of Goto, and who has been a member of tho staff of the Bank of Now Zealand at Balchitha for tho past five years, has received notice of his transfer to Wairoa (Hawko's Bay).

Mr W. P. Nolan, station master at Waitahuna, h«as been transferred to a similar position at Coalgato, in the Christchurch district.

A Wellington telegram advises that Mr E. W. Lowe, who has boon a New Zealand manager for tho A.M.P. Society since 1877, retired from service on Thursday, xlo was entertained by the staff, and received presentations from the New Zealand Board of Directors and, from tho staff. Mr Arthur Amies, who succeeds Mr Lowe, _ was formerly chief accountant in tho dominion.

The New Zealand Times states that the Education Board has appointed Mr J. W. Butler attendance officer, in succession to Mr J. Dineen, who has transferred to a position in the Education Department. Mr Butler has done good work on several school committees in Auckland, Taranaki, and Dunedin. Ho was a member of the Medical Corps in the Samoan expedition, and continued his service on the staff! of a hospital ship until discharged through an injury as tho result of an accident. Since then he has been temporarily employed in ono of the financial departments of tho Government. Mr Samuel Heath Little, formerly of Ravensbourne, died at his residence in Auckland on Wednesday, in lvs eightieth year. For 36 years in Dunedin he held the post of accountant to Messrs Neill and Co., and was also very well known as an accomplished musician, acting as organist for tho Moray Place Congregational Church for many years. He left Dunedin for Auckland to benefit his wife's health, and' upon her death some vears ago lived for a time with his son, Dr Chns. LittK at Waikari, Canterbury. Subsequently he took up residence with hie daughter in Auckland. The other son is Mr Fred S. T. Little, of Dunedin.
