SEQUEL TO AN ACCIDENT.

CHRISTCHURCH, September 7. After a four days' hearing in the Supreme Court, the case m which David John Miller (wharf labourer, Lyttelton) claimed from the Union Steam Ship Company £2500 as general damages and £52 10s as special damages (hospital expenses to the dato of issue of the writ) for injuries resulting from an accident on the steamer Tarawera at Lyttelton on the night of January 17, was concluded this afternoon. The jury returned a verdict for the full amount claimed, but judgment was not entered up pending argument on important legal points raised.
