SOUTHLAND'S CORRECT CONTRIBUTION. (Pee United Peess Association.) INVERCAEGILL, September 7. The. paper presented to the Ho'.iee of Representatives by tho. Hon. G. W. Russe-l! yesterday showing the state of Southland's patriotic funds does not disclose the actual position, and owinpr to a change in the system of management only part of the funds i 3 taken into account in tho Government returns. The amount subscribed was £112,620, instead of £89.066, as shown, and th'j expenditure was £4-1.831, instead of £16.449. The contributions per head were £1 17s 4d, instead of £1 Ida Id, as diown.
