NEW ANGLICAN DIOCESE
A TAR AN. AKT PROPOSAL. (Pes United Pbkss Association-.) NEW PLYMOUTH,. July 24. A meeting of clergy held at Stratford to-day considered the question of forming a pew diocese of TaranakL Archdeacon Evai-3 presided. Resolutions were passed: (a) To take immediate steps to raise sufficient money to justify the formation of the proposed diocese; (b) that a representative council be convened, consisting of' the bishops, clergy, and laymen in the proposed aiea, the first meeting to be held at Hawera, arrangements for which were delegated to a committee set up for the purpose, with the Rev. E. L. Harvia (Inglowood) as secretary; (c) that Archdeacon Evans bo asked to aooept nomination as honorary organising financial secretary of the endowment fund.
