Dr Dux rick . deposed t*> examining body, and said he was convinced that death was due to drowning The evidence of various witnesses showed that the little girl was seen, oor .'»g home from school with a Maori boy named Richard Relhana and a European boy named Edward Claude Gibbons. They were seen going to the bank of the Kerikeri Creek, and afterwards both boys were seen going home alone. The girl's clothes were found on the bank, and tier naked body was recovered next day. It was proved that tho girl could not undress lierrelf. ~ Gibbons iruado a statement to the effect that Reihana undressed the girl and put her in the water. Reihana's statement was that the girl was on the bank of the creek in a naked oondition when he say her, and she fell in. The verdict 'will bo grren to-morrow.
