A CO-OPERATIVE SCHEME. (PBB UMITBD PBEKS ABHOCIATIOH.) WELLINGTON, April 19. __ A conference representing the various Farmers Co-operative Associations of New Zealand was held in Wellington this week to finally fix details for the lormation of a Farmers' Co-operative Wholesale Federation, of New Zealand.

It was decided to register tho company immediately. The nominal capital was fixed at present at £100, OCX), while the aggregate nominal capital of tho subscribed aasoc.ations is nearly £3,000,000. With regard to .tho capital, it is not the idea of the controlling boards of the several associations that toe federation itself should embark upon ventures involving laTge capital responsibilities, .but rather that it should become the medium of inauguration, and it is confined to genuine farmers' co-operative associations and companies, in wh.ch tho majority are actually engaged directly, or in any subsidiary branch of farming, or in any industry allied thereto. It has been dec ded to confine initial work to such activities as will most effectually assist the shareholders, associations, and companies in their major operations, both in regard to importfs and exports. The federation will also oollect commercial data of all kinds conccrning British and other markets, and secure and manage the dominion, British, and foreign agencies of lines of • interest to the various associations.
