Tho Kamo is duo hero to-day from Lyttolton. Sho is timed to sail oil Saturday for Lyttelton and Auckland. Tho Ivini left Wellington on Wednesday night for Westport and Ureyinouth, where sho will load timber for Lyttelton. Tho coastal steamer John is duo hero on Saturday from Wellington, and is fixed to sail the samo day for Uamaru, Wellington, and Wanganui.

Tho Rosamond will leavo Wellington today for Bluff and Dunedin. Sho is duo on Tuesday, and -will load general cargo for Wellington. Tho Kowhai sailed from Grcymouth on Wednesday with a cargo of timber for Lyttolton and Dunedin, and is due at this port on Sunday. The Kittawa will sail from Lyttelton on Saturday lor Dunedin. Sho is fixed to sail on Monday with general cargo for Lyttolton, Wellington, .Napier, Gisborne. and Auckland.

The Gorinna will sail for Dunedin direct from New Plymouth on Saturday. She is due at this port on Monday, and will sail on the return voyage tho next day. The Monowai is due hero on Wednesday from Auckland, .and will bo withdrawn from •tho servic.o indefinitely owing to the shortago of coal.

As a direct result of tho coal miners' strike and the growing scarcity of coal, Captain T. Eckford has decided temporarily to withdraw his coastal steamer Wairau from the Wellington-Blenheim Tho Wairau paid off her crow at Blenheim, and will wait till the miners resumo work. Tho Opawa -will continue to run in tho meanwhilo between Wellington and Blenheim. Roughly, tho cost of constructing tho three cargo vessels tho Cunard Company is having built on the Pacific Coast will work out at about £33 per ton. The greater share of tho ordor is to be carried out by the subsidiaries of tho Bethlehem Steel Company, and the vessels are to be about 15.000 tons deadweight each.
