ANZAC DAY
PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH SERVICES,
Rykurn, Moderator of the Irosbyterian Church of New Zealand, , s . addressed tho following notification to ministers and congregations:—
r °i dominion will recall on Anzac Day tho heroic deeds and self-sacrifice of our men at tho landing on Gallipoli, 1 would call up on all connected with our Church to make that day a day of special services and prayer. We should remember with heartfelt gratitude and a deep sense of our dependence upon God His good hand upon us. It seems at present likely that different days will bo observed in different localities. Tho dato and hour must be arranged to suit each placc, and where desirable combined meetings with other denominations may be fittingly hold; but no effort should bo spared to make Anzac Day a day of thanksgiving' and intercession. ' In connection with special religious services on Anzac Day, the following recommendation has been made by the Publio Questions Committee of tho Dunedin Presbytery:—"'That all tho ministers within tho presbytery will make arrangements for the observance of Anzac Day, on April 25. It is well tliat we as a Church should acknowledge before God, either in congregational gatherings or in joint meetings, tha brave deeds of our sons, who shared in the perils and sacrifices of Gallipoli, and that we should make special intercession for those who to-day are so nobly maintaining our cause on land and sea."
