MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Thursday, Apkil 12. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.) Undefended ' pases.—Judgment for the plaintiffs was given by default in the following cases: —Reid and Gray v. Arthur Grace (Taupo), claim £14- Is, for goods supplied (costs £1 15s 6d); A. E. J. Blakeley v. C. J. 11. Thomson (Foxton), claim £3 15s, for work done (costs 10s): Cook, Howlison, and Co. v. John Gordon (Palmerston), claim 15s. costs on a previous claim (costs 10s ; Tyrrell and Co. v. W. A. D'Oridant, claim £1 2s 6d, for work dono (costs ss). Judgment Summons Case.—Thomas Smith and Co. (Mr Dawson) applied for an order against E. J. Hanley for tho recovery of £6 17s lid.—The defendant. stated that ho had not had the money to pay with for three months previously to the judgment being granted against him. He was now earning £3 10s, but , could make no offer in the meantime. —The Magistrate said it had not been proved that defendant was in possession of sufficient means to pay, and tho application would bo refused.
