MAORI HILL BAND

There was <i full attendance of members at the annual meeting ot the Maori Hill Band on \Vedtics>da\ 'evening. Mr O. Booby, sen. (pie.sident) occupied the chair. The annual icpoit btated mat the band had made satisfactory progress during tho year, notwithstand ng the tact that srvei.il more members had enlisted for the tront; the total numbci now being 15. a fact ot which the committee fell, proud. Mr C. J Davie, the late conductor, having gone to the fiont, Mr J. Simeon hdd been appointed to fill the vacancy, and had carried out his duties in a \ery satisfactory manner. During the yeai the band had given several Sundav lnuncinal concerts, and had mot with due public appieciation. In natnotie matters the band had taken its full share The thanks of the band were duo to Sergeant Pedlar for -eivices in instructing the recruits' cl.u-s. The finances were, considering the prevailing cueunmtanccs, in a fairly satisfactory state r lhe repoit and balance sheet wore adopted.
