— The wattle trees which are to be planted in Turkish soil so soon as an oppor tunity occurs, to mark the graves of the gallant Australians buried in GalUpoli, will probably be of the kind that are cultivated for the beauty of their flowers. Other species yield valuable timber, while in others, again, the bark contains a large percentage of tannin, which is exported. The wattle tree belongs to the acacia family, a genus of plants which grow in Africa. Arabia, the East Indies, Australia, and other climes.
