NEW ZEALANDERS AT HOME

The following. extract from a. letter from a New Zealand officer invalided to England has been furnished to us:—"Now I am to add something which ie absolutely true and may be published. On all hands we hear that the New Zealand troops in hospital and on leave are the most popular of all tho troops in England at present This comes from all classes and places, including Scotland Yard. It) is very gratifying to us all. Also, that our New Zealand troops aro the finest soldiers and fighters in tho world. This latter remark came from a General of tho famoue 29th Division, who saw us fighting alongside regulars, Australians, arid Indians. The Australians are magnificent fighters; but their discipline does not tend'to give that cohesion necessary in modern warfare."
