THE FOE BURY TROTTING CLUB'S HANDICAPS. TO THE EDITOR. Sin, —While scanning the handicaps for the Forbury x trots I was greatly struck by the inconsistency of the handicapper. There is a very marked case in the first race on the oard whore one horse that has really no performance of note is aeked to concede live seconds to a horse with a good performance, and there are several glaring instances of inconsistency throughout tfie programme. It is the greatest hardship owners can suffer, to find that after months of solid work to get their horses well, their chance of winning a race is knocked on the head through unfairness in the handicaps. No doubt t.he" - handicappcr is honest in his intentions to frame the handicaps, but ho seems to haf* an imperfect knowledge of tho performances of horses in this part ol the island. It is a true saying that no man can handicap horses on form unless he makes it his business to bo on the spot and seo for himself tho performances of tho horses,'cpeoiallv in the trotting line.— I am, etc., IntiSeested. Dunedin, January 15. — London's biggest hospital is King George's, at Waterloo. It will accommodate 1650 patients, and tho 3360 olelctrio lamps have utilised 55 miles of wire.
