A SYDNEY TRAGEDY
SON SENTENCED FOR MANSLAUGHTER. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, September 3. (Received Sept. 3, at 10.55 p.m.) John Griffiths, found guilty of the manslaughter of his father, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment with hard labour.
A young man named John Griffiths was arrested on July 31 on'a charge of murdering his father, who was found in his home at Pyrmont with several fingers severed and his head eplit. A sword was alongside the body. The police gave evidence that the tragedv was the result of trouble between (jhe father and mother. l The son cautioned his father, who on Saturday, July 31, again insulted his mother, and the eon, seizing a sword which the father got in the Boxer war. inflicted fata;l injuries;.
