ANNUAL REPORT. Press Association —By Telegraph.—Copyright. SYDNEY, September 2. The annual report of the Education Department shows that the total numbeT of pupils in the State is 277,392, being an increase of 11,350, of whom 52 per cent, are in the metropolitan schools. These figures disclose the fact that the population of the State is becoming more concentrated in towns, as 93£ per cent, of the increase came from 627 of the larger schools, the remaining 6£ per cent., being distributed .amongst 2631 small schools. During the year 94,198 pupils were medically examined, and 57.283 were found to be suffering from ailments requiring attention. ■
