The manager of the Golden Belt, mine, NevesviLie, reports that Jatst week 52 tons of ore were crushed and treated lor a yield of £148 8s 6d, from tho plates only. At tiio New Sylvia mine, Thamto, No. 4 rise was up 103 ft la.st week. The reef was well mineralised, and gold was seen occasionally. In Mo. 3 use, driving was resumed on the reef north of the winze, and the oro was of payable value. 'iho following are the gold returns of the New Big River Gold Mining Company for June:—Battery: 138oz l?dwt melted gold from 25ii tons stone crushed. Cyanide: tßoz 6dwt bullion trom 300 tons sands treated. Total estimated value, £7000. When tho reels were being broken down at tho Occidental Consolidated mine, Thames, gold could generally be seen. A few pounds of picked stone were obtained. In order to test a. branch of No. 2 reef, which dropped off into the wall at No. b level, u crosscut was started into the footwall. Tho country was good, and the manager considered that it the ore continued downward it had a very good chance of making rich stone.
