THE ST. CLAIR BEACH ROAD.

Sib, —I read with much interest the letter of "Observer" in this morning's Daily Tim.ee. Last evening I passed over tbo sandhills for the first time since the road was commenced, and I agree with your correspondent that the -work is likely to injuro the sandhills. Shortly put, the former reclamation steps of the Domain Board were restorative ; the present road work is destructive, and seems likely to prove a waste of money. The sandhills are practicaly a national park, and the present winding tracks, which could have been extended into beautiful pathways, were much more in keeping with the surroundings of the park than is the roadway now being formed, which seems to me a defacement. The prospect that the sea may possibly remove tho road in part does not diminish one's objections to the road.—l am, etc., Beach-planking. D.unedin, January 22.
