(Per United Peess Association.) ' WELLINGTON. April 5. A tragic occurrence took place at St. Anne's Church, Wellington South, on Friday night. Whilo a service was being held a member of the congregation, Mrs Mary Agnes Jones, a widow, who resided in Mansfioid street, died suddenly from heart failure. Dr Gieeen was summoned and on arrival pronounced life to be extinct. NELSON, April 4. Ethel Hammond, agod 25, wife of Mr K. Hammond, of Richmond, oonwnitted saicido by taking poison. She wae happily married, but suffered from melancholia, tho result of a recent illness. The Aehburton police have received information (tho Guardkn states) that a young man named William Jamieson was drowned at Totara Valley on Thursday. The deceased was & eon of Mr William Jamieson, of Dromore.
