Aorden Cup competition between iho Canterbury and Wellington centres, cmbracing water polo, diving, and a 700 yds relay race, was won by Canterbury in cacli department. AUCKLAND SWIMMERS AXD WELLINGTON. HEASOX FOK NON-APPEARANCE. (Pek United Press Association.) , BLENHEIM, February 19. The Auckland team refused to swim at the Wellington carnival on February 14, after being advertised to take part. " The manager oi the team states that a suggestion '.vats made to the Waitemata Club to share the pro lite of the carnival in order to 'assist the northern club in its effort to attend the New Zealand championship ineet-ng at Blenheim. Subsequently the Wellington Centre intimated that it "could not negotiate with the- Waitemata Club, as the ciub was beyond its jurisdiction. Finding that Champion ami the other Auckland .swimmers had been specially advertised in connection with the Wellington carnival, a conference was held, but it proved abortive, and the Auckland swimmers in consequence did not. compete.
