A RECTOR THRASHED

(Received Aug. 29, at 11.35 p.m.) The socialistic trade unions at Loebejuer, near Halle, organised a fete, including an entertainment for children. The rector of the school prohibited the children- from attending the fete, and those who disobeyed were ordered next day singly into the rector's room, where they were soundly caned.
The parents assembled and thrashed the rector, police rescuing him and escorting him to his residence with drawn swords.
