(Pem United Press Association.) HAMILTON, August 29. James Leslie' M'Gregor, land agent, has been committed for trial, for alleged breaches of the Bankruptcy Act. Alfred Orodsey, a farmer at. Rotorua, was also committer! for trial on a similar charge. NAPIER. August 29. The' Education Board adopted a resolution urging that the minimum salary for teachers in tho back-blocks schools be raised to £130. The preliminary tests on the municipal trams are in progress, ,and the service is expected to be available to the public in a week's time. As a sequel to the recent fire at Hastings,' Patrick MacNamara was to-day charged "with arson and, making a .false declaration, in conjunction with Nellie Wells MacNamaTa. He was also charged with conspiring to defraud tho Guardian Insurance Company. Accused was remanded to appear at, Hastings on Wednesday. WELLINGTON, August 29. An application for an adjournment of the bankruptcy petition in the estate of Herman Lewis was made in tho Supreme Court to-day. Counsel explained that the creditors had set up an informal committee to report on the position of the missing debtor, and until that report was available the petitioning creditors did not wish to press the order. An adjournment, for 14 days was granted.
