NAVAL EXPENDITURE.

A compromise has been iirranged between militarists and economists whereby tho Cabinet has consented to the expendihrre of 92,500,000 yen (about £9,260,000), spread nneveniy over a period of sis years, on the construction of a battleship and three super-Dread-nought cruisers. It is hoped by economies to cover tho expenditure in 1912.
