ROUBAIX EXHIBITION.

THE NEW ZEALAND PAVILION. (Fkob Obb Own Coreespohdent.) LONDON, June 2. Everything is almost in working order <it Roubaix, and _thc Dominion exhibit is calculated to show the resources of the country to the best advantage. New Zealamlcrs will bo glad lo learn that the frozen meat industry and the wool trads have been brought prominently to the notice of French visitors, while literature printed in French and a number of photographs of the Dominion will all help to convey a better and more correct impress sion of the country, which would like, if the French authorities permit, to servo the working classes with a good and cheap supply of frozen meat. The building itself is a gabled staicturo, with a voraudah running round it, and roofed with a peculiar red-yellow colour tile. The outsido walls liable been painted in red and white stripes, with a decorative band of somewhat Maori design. Internally there is a door space of 60ft by 33ft. Tho walls are hung with grewi tapestry and a frieze of white calico stentilled with bright red roses and green leaves, and blue ribbons festooned between shields representing the New Zealand blue ensign. Between tho shields are rams heads supporting the festoons. Tho roof is covered with calico in broad white and pale gold stripes The whole is decidedlv " Frenehy," but the building and decorations harmonise with the other pavilion in the exhibitions. A handsome four-sided show case stands in the lehtre. This is 9ft high and about 9ft long each side. Some fine fleeces of wool are here displayed. Decorating the show-case arc lovely photos cf prize rams, and various scones in connection with sheep forming and the handling of woo! in the wool shed. Tho Wellington Meat Export Company and the Gear Meat Company both have splendid wool exhibits. Then there is a stand of grain and seed samples,'a case of polished kauri gum; a trophy of the Hear Meat Company's tinned beef and mutton; n collection of the Wanganui Meal Freezing Company's tins of all sorts and sizes; and a selection of sheepskins, hides, butter, harnes?, and . preserved jams and fruits. The walls are hung with photographs of Now Zealand scenery. The chief booklet is the Stag's Head Book, and there are two specially prepared pamphlets dealing with tlu frozen meat industry. The refrigerator is in eourso of erection. Sunday is the great, day in Roubaix. The formal opening took place on a Sunday, on the next a football match was tin l attraction; on (be third Sundav a fetn brought some 30,000 visitors, and the last Sundav the attendance numbered 40,000.
