ANTI-MILITARISM.
SOCIETY FORMED. (Pbb UNiirn Fhess Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 14. A movement has been inaugurated s under the title of the National Peace and s Anti-Militarist Council of New Zealand to r organise thoso who are protesting against s the compulsory clauses of the Defence r Act, and to take united action in an - effort to have the clauses repealed. An i indignation meeting is being arranged e for in Christchurch. A petition praying for the repeal of the compulsory training 3 clauses will be circulated throughout the 1 Dominion, and candidates for the forth- . coming election will be asked to pledge B themselves 111 the interest of the move--3 merit. A committee under the direction 8 of the council will, it is officially ane nounccd, arrange for legal' advice and c assistance for any who may bo prosecuted i under the provisions of the act, and will i give information regarding the interpretation of certain clauses of the act.
