BOWLING.
OUTRAM BOWLING,CLUB. The report for tho season 1910-1911 contains the following clauses:— Your executive has much pleasure in presenting its eleventh annual report and balance shoot. A perusal of the balance sheet shows 11 credit balance of £10 18s Bd, which is to be considered very satisfactory when the diminished state of tho member6hi» is taken into account. As far as club matches aro concerned, we have not been as successful as in former years. Wo played 10 matches, won but one of ;heni (St. Kilda), and lost nine. In justice to ourselves wo wish to point out that during the. season the vacancies, caused by reliable players leaving tho club, had to. bo tilled by young players. These players assisted tho club to keep its engagements, and although beaten many times, as already mentioned, wo had our sharo of pleasure out of the games, and wero therefore satisfied. The membership roll is not satisfactory. It now stands at 25 members, and is at what might bo termed "low-water mark." It therefore behoves every member to uso his best endeavours to increaso tlio membership of the club during tho Doming season, and thus enable the executive to iinanoe the club with freedom. The club lies were all successfully played off inside the season. In fact, thero was time left to play o(T a consolation match for non-prize-winners. Although tho grcon was topdressed late in tho season it 1 played very ' . well. Tlio grcen-kecper (Mr W. Murray) dserves the thanks of the club for tl.o energy ho displayed towards tlio caro of tho green during a very dry and trying season. Your executive wishes to thank tho ladies who so kindly camo along and dispensed ■afternoon-tea to players when intcrclub matches wore played on the green. The club's best thanks aro duo -to tlio four donors of prizes:—President, vice-president, and Messrs Win. Woods, H. Gillies, F. W. Wright, and Martin Wills. Tho outgoing executivo hopes that efforts will bo mado to increaso the membership duning the coming season. We havo a good green to play on, which certainly cannot be as • safely said of some of tlio greens in and around Dunedin.
