SOUTHLAND NOTES.

Tho Invercargill section of the four-r'mk championship is-now a sure thing for the To Rangi A team, as thev have only to account for tlra Te Rangi B and BlufE teams. AVhilo the latter contains a few good players, tho chances aTe that they will not bo strong enough to defeat To Rangi, who will bo certain to have their best team for the occasion. Rivorton will annex the Western Section, while most, likely ; Goro will prevail over Hokonui (they have 0110 win each) in tho final for the Eastern Section.

There is much interest being taken in the Dunedin-Southland Centre Match. Southland ; is represented by a strong combination, and locally it is hoped that Dunodin will Bond, down its best, players, so that there may be a, fair trial of' strength. Since Gore is-anxious to try the experiment of a.n Easter tournament, tho few Tnvorcargill bowlers who were promoting an informal meeting have given way to tho desire of the eastern players: It seems improbable, however, that the gathering will bo successful, as at least four rinks of our best players are 'going to Oamaru, while, some are bent on taking part in tho Duncdin tourney. Indeed, I am told that threo rinks from tho Gore Club itself have entered for Oamaru. It must bo borne in mind that the reason for Invcrcargill abandoning Easter was tho weather, and las Gore is no'better favoured in this respect, players can scarcely be blamed if they prefer to try their luck where there is almost a certainty of genial sunshine.
