Union in connection with the rowimr carnival at Hobart from February 19 to .March 4. The prizes for the Inter-State Fours are a £25 shield and live ;;olil medals. It was explained that Tasmania, had previously guaranteed £40 towards _ the expenses of a New Zealand crew. The eounoil decided to make up the balance required. It the council is satislied that it is the best crew that wins (ho championship regatta at Picton next month tlwcrcw will b c sent to Tasmania. The Canterbury Association asked whether ft. Howard, who had competed with a lifeboat crew, was still entitled to row as an amateur. It was decided that lie was. J. M. Mackson was suspended for violating his amateur status.
