Fat cattle again met with a dull sale. Store sheep showed no change. Pal lambs showed a further advance, Fat wethers sold at about last week's rates, and ewes warn easier by about Is per head. There was a better demand lor .-.tore cattle, and good dairy cows said well, Bacon pigs sold at recent 'rates, but porkers and stores were easier. , The entry of store sheep was not a large one, but the sheep were of better class than those offered at late sales. There was tt good attendauco oi buyers, and every lot changed hands at prices fully equal to those of last week. A line of forward wethers made lis 3d. Two and four-tooth ewes of medium quality brought 1-ts, and sound-mouth ewes lt» Cd. Forward lambs of mixed sexes made 10s Cd to lis, and smaller Gs (Id to 8s Od. Th» entry of fat lambs was a Urge one, and the bulk were well grown and in prime condition. There was active competition among export buyers, and a clearance was effected at prices that showed a further vise of 3d per head. Prime freezers nvwle 13s to 14s Gd, a few extra heavy las Gd, and lighter lis to 12s Gd. Tho yarding of fat sheep war, considerably laiger than in the previous week, mid on account of the plentiful supply there was not much keen competition among bulehers for ewes, and these opened at lower rates than were Tilling in the previous week, the decline being fully Is per head. Wethers met with fair competition for export, ami there was practically 1:0 change in values. The range of prices was: Prime wethers lis 6d to 10s, extra to 17s i)d, lighter 13s to 14s, merino wethers 9s Id to 12s 9d, prime ewes lis Cd to 13s, others 8s io lis. There were 301 head of fat cattle penned, and the Quality was of fair average. The demand was again dull, and sales wore difficult io effect, prices showing no improvement on the low rales of the previous week. Steers made £0 2s 6d to £9 10s, heifers •£! 10s to £7, and dry cows £i 2s 6d to £7,los—equal to 17s Gd to 19s (id for prime, 15s to 17s for medium, and 13s to 14s 6d for cow and inferior. A good yarding of calves sold at Is Od to 57s Cd, according to size and quality. There was a fairly large entry of store cattle, including three or four pens of good young sorts, but the bulk were old cows. There was good demand for useful sorts, but others were difficult to sell.
