The unrest in Eastern Europe is affecting the public subscription •to the New Smith Wales loan. Subscriptions amounting to bail" a_ million have been withdrawn owing to the unsettled state of the market,'due lo the unfavourable news from the Near East. Many- tenders were withdrawn altogether, and others were reduced by one-half.
The position of all colonial stocks has been affected by to-day's Argentine issue of 5 peT cents, nl 98.
