Tho 'llielma was first over the line in a steady breeze, but the iSityniuira quickly forged ahead, and rounded, the lirst buoy Bmin 33sec ahead of her rival. She sailed rigid away lo the second buoy, rounding it lOmiu 55w before tho Ti'ielma. On the long reach home the Thelnm slightly improved her position, sailing very fast in a freshening; breeze, but the iSayonaivi finished 9min 51see beforo her.
