SETTLERS ALARMED,

(Pik United Pnuss, Association.) , AUCKLAND, May 13. The Auckland West branch of the Liberal-Labour Federation carried a resolution calling the attention of tho Minister of Justice to the dangerous class of prisoners sent to Waiotapu, judging by tho recent, oscapes of two burglars and 0110 armed highwayman, two being still at large. Tho Federation entered a strong protest against such prisoners being sent to Waiotapu, and being again allowed to endanger the safety oi the public. ONE PRISOXI'jU. RECAPTURED. (Pur United Press Association) NAPIER, May 13. A telegram was received by Inspector Macdonell to-day, stating that tho prisoner Easton, convicted of attempted robbery under arms, who escapcd from tho Waiotapu tree-planting camp, had boon recaptured by Constable Ryan, of Taupo, at Rangitaiki.
