AUCKLAND, May 13. At this morning's meeting of the Education Board correspondence was read disclosing the fact that trouble exists regarding the removal of the Waimana school buildings, the Natives in that locality showing considerable opposition. The Hon. Mr Carroll, it, was stated, had wived to the Natives: "The Minister for Education has decided to remove the school, and if you wish for a school wo will build one when you have enough children. Let tho pattella have the present one. Bo easy with tho pakeha," The Chairman explained that the board's foreman carpenter and three men were idle whilo the removal of tho building was delayed, the stoppage involving a cost of £2 10s per day. The chairman was authorised to take stops to accelerate the work of removing the school buildings at Waimana.
