Mr D.Reid, M.P., returned from the nortn yesterday. Mr Reid has been in the north for some time in- connection with the purchase of a timber property on behalf of a Home company. Mr T. D. Charters, who is severin<* his connection with the Clutha Leader to take an. important position on the Gisborne Tm.es, was met by a. number of his friends at Balclufcha on Fiday evening and presented with a momento in the shape of a shaving set. Mr Alex. Henderson, who has lately retired from the firm of Fleming and Co. (Ltd.), was met on Friday night by the staff of the Gore flour mill and presented with a handsome silver tea and coffee service and silver-mounted oak tray, suitably inscribed. ' .
