Lady Plunket forwarded a circular dealing with the work' of the, Society for Povmotinir the Health of Women and Children. In order to tost the strength of the demand for nurecs, the society had arranged with a specially-trained nurse to pay short visits to the different- towns where her expenses were guaranteed. Should the council bo willing to make 115" of this nurse the writer wonld be pleased if it would communicate with her. The nurse's terms were £3 3s a week, board and lodging and travelling expenses.—Received. The Works. Tramwav. and Lighting Committee recommended that a request from Mr R. Waghoni for a footpath in Dalgety street, be left to tho inspector, with power to act. That ruts in Royal Crescent road be filled in. The inspector had been instructed to havo the grass cleared away from Victoria road. The inspector had *dso been instructed to sec that no material was left on the roadsides by residents without being properly lighted at night.--Adopted. l'ho Finance Committee recommended tho payment of district fund accounts. £44 19s 6d; and special loan accounts, £12 Is 9d.~ Adoptcd.
