llio monthly meeting of the Portobollo Road Board was hold on mund.j-.3Wh April, there being present Mr J. I) ickson (chairman), Messrs Burt, Fulton. Riddoll asked the board to clean out the ditch and widen the culvert on the road leading to Dickson Brothers Hooper's Inlot-Gronlod, subject to Messrs Dickson and Ki(.dell putting on a man to assist; the inspector to visit the work asked for and report the probable cost. Hr liollyer reported that a settler had occasion to visit another settler's house in Nortb-East Harbour, and had loft his horss and trap standing on the road. The ranger happened to bo passing at tho time, and ho threatened to unyoitc the here* and impound it. Mr Hollyer asked, whether the ranger hedsuoh power. The board expressed tiho opinion that the ranger had not such power, and tho dork was instructed to write the rang«r on the rnattor as-king for an explanation.
