ST. PETERSBURG, May 11. (Received -May 11, at 10 p.m.) The KM clergy have petitioned the Council »f Ministers against the project before the Duma to establish freedom of conscience. The petition is based on the ground that the Duma would be inllictinw an unmerited wrong if tire Orthodox ■CliViTCheis were placed on the same level as other sects and as Judaism, Paganism, and Feemasonry. The petitioii'3TC declare that such a reduction of the Orthodox Church may (shake the foundations of the State.
A "HUNGER" STRIKE. ST. PETERSBURG, my 11. (Received May 11, at 10 p.m.) One hundred Mid twenty-eight political offenders who are imprisoned at Samarai and 500 other prisoners have declared a " hunger" strike as a protest against the drastic prison regulations prevailing. They have already fasted for five days,
