FIRES.

(Pes UsiTiiD Pp.ess Association.) WELLINGTON, August 30. A four-roomed house at Maramii was burned down this afternoon. The insurances are: On the building, £150 in the Liverpool and London and Globe office; on the contents. £100' in the Atlas office, AUCKLAND, August 30. A fire in Whitlome, Stevenson, and Co.'s factory _ at Newmarket |a.st night was extinguished by the brigade after the engine room had been considerably damaged 'and the floor of the second' storey burned, Hie building was owned by Campbell. Elwenfreid, and Co., and was insured in the New Zealand office. The atocl: was insured- in the Commercial Union and New Zealand offices.
