Three masters in lunacy interviewed Mrs Eddy. She talked volubly on the subjects of allopathy, hoincenpatliy, and mesmerism.
About Iho beginning of March Mm Eddy's relatives filed a unit, in equity at Concord, Now Hampshire, against the directors or trustee* of' tho Christian Science Church, with tho object, of obtaining an account of the Christian Science leader's financial afta-irs. The complainants were Mr George W. Glover, Mrs E<l<lv'9 onlv child, his daughter, Mary Baker Glover, and Mrs Eddy's nephew, Mr Goorgo \V. Baker. They asserted that Mrs Eddy was incapacitated by the infirmities incident, to old age to manage her affairs. Tho petition detailed Mrs Eddy's «mrces of revenue from Christian Science, and alleged that probably several million dollars had been netted by Iho leader of Hid cult. A few days later tho Christian Science Church in Melbourno received a. cablegram from tho bead of the Publication Commilteo of the Christian Science Church of Boston declaring that the rumour as to Mrs Eddy's incompetency was a reiteration of former falsehoods. This fact was verified bv Lord Dunmnro. who had interviewed Mrs Eddy, and published an account of tho interview 'in the London Daily Mail. Hoping to defeat her relatives. Mrs Eddy announced in Anril that she had appointed as trustees of bcr hard earnings Mr IT. R. Pen, Mr Henry Baker (lawyer), Mr M'Lelland (Christian Science editor), and Mr Forgald' (magistrate).
