OTAGO EDUCATION BOARD.

Tho Otago- Education Board again met yesterday. There wore present—Messrs T. Mackenzie (in tlio chair), Hon. T. Fergus, Bev. P. B. Frraer, Messre Borne, M'Korrow, Israel, Soott, Snow, and Mitchell. THE DILATORY DEPARTMENT. Mr Scott asked whether any reply bad ; been reoeived from tho department with respect to Forbuty residonoe. The Socretary (Mr Pryde) replied that ' no such communication mid been received in respect of any application for buildings during tho last three months. Mr Scott: Yet the Minister says 'ho has [ nolliing to do with tlio erection of buildings in this distriot. It was eventually resolved, on the motion of Mr Scott—"That the attention of tho . Minister bo oalled to tho fact that no acknowledgments had been received to i applications for new schools, or additions to new schools, made during the paa three months." PAYMENTS. Payments amounting to £7732 5s 5d were passed. • ■ • SCHOOL JOtnurAL. Tho Sawyers' Bay Committee wrote asking whether the School Journal was sufficient to meet the requirements of the standards.—Referred to the Minister o{ Ednoation. RESIGNATIONS.
