Daring tho oourse of his opening remarks, the Chairman referred to the excellent year's progress that had been registered. The club had started from practically nothing, and, as the Teport aud balance sheet would show, a considerable amount of good work for charitable objects had beon accomplished. Ho wislisd to emphasise tho fact • that although the organisation -was of a Druidic nature tlio services of the club woro lit tho disposal of any deserving person or institution. The Hon. Secretary (Bro. J. H. S. Dixon) then read the annual _ report and balanco sheet, of which the following are extracts:— " The performing members of the club are to bo congratulated on their work during the year, aud the result of their efforts for ' sweet charities' sake' has been favourably commented upon. Concerts havo been given in tho follcwing places:—Dunedin, JdosgieJ, Knikojdi, Anderson's Bay, Maori HifT, itornington, and South Dunedin, and, ajter all expenses have been deducted, the sum of rto less than £209 6s Id has teen available' for the recipients of tlicse benefit concerts. It .would be mors encouraging if members made a practice of attending the club rooms, and helped ua on with our good work.. I hope the members during this forthcoming eearon wilt do their utnust to push o:i the interests of the club, and would suggest that the club endeavour to engage a room where the members could 'meet two or three times a weak, and also that the Musical Committee be empowered to net as an executive committee of the club, and to meet as early as possible between this and next club night, and druft a syllabus comprising a scries of singing, musical, and elocutionary competitions for the club's approval. In conclusion, 1 hops that the United Anoient Order of Druids ml! afford us all the help, possible, Mid keep in their midst an organisation that is reccgnissd bv kindled societies and the public in general as a splendid idea and a move in the right direction."
The finances of the club showed a very satisfactory slata of aJlaars.
It was resolved that presentations be made to the hon. secretary (Rro. Dixon) and the lion, pianist (Bro. Asktoii G. Loeoli) for their invaluable services since the formation of tho club.
