The Admiralty has reduced the sentence imposed on Moody, the stoker who was tho ringleader in the recent Portsmouth riot, from five years' penal servitude to three years. It has also directed that the "on the Icnco" order be used in future only for military purposes. The Admiralty has relieved Commodore Stopford of his command for failing to display firmness and resource, and it has similarly punished Commanders Dury, Lowe, and Mitchell for neglecting their duties.
