Judgment was given for plaintiffs in tho following undefended cases:—Mills, Dick, and Co. v. John M'Dowcll (Waikari, Canterbury), eiaiin JED 3s id, for advertising (cost? JE2 its 6d); Commercial Agency Company v. Frederick T. Smith (Sydenham, Chriatchufeh), claim JE3 Bs, lot goods (costs 10s)-, Joseph JUuhwoodic v, William-Berry (Tcmuka), claim i3O lor goods, with 10s Gd intcrcs't'(the dlaiin'had been pretty well paid sihco tlio issuing of tlio summons, and judgment was given lor 15s fid, and &s costs). John Gar'-ahd v. Gustav Robert Harrison (Anderson's Bay).-01oim for possession of 35 voiiiines of tho Encyclopedia Britaruuca and
n revolving bookcase, valued at £U 2s, or £13 , la in caso jrossossioh. could not be had, and £3 for tho dolontion of tho goods.—ln this previously-heard case Mr Graham rend tho Mowing judgment of Mr K. Y; Widdowson, S.M.:—'! In my opinion the document in question ia statiipitblo under 'tho Stamp Aot, 1883,' and until stamped cannot bo reoeived in ovidenco. Apart from that question, however, tho vliolo transaction wis undoubtedly n sale, and it was within tho power of defendant to havo sold tho goods under sub-section 2. section 27 of' Tho Sale Of Gwds Act, 1895,' Moreover, this document comos within the definition of 'instrument' contained in 'Tho Chattels Transfor Aet, 1853.' ancl not having been registered was voidnmder andas against porsons mentioned in section 25 of Hint net."
