WINTRY WEATHER. MELBOURNE, July 23. (Received July 23, at- 10.2 a.m.) There is very cold weather in the country. Three deaths from exposure are recorded. There are heavy rains and floods in the Casterton district, the bouses being inundated, much stock destroyed, and traffic impeded. BLOWN OUT TO SEA. Captain Carlson, of the schooner Enterprise, with two men, attempted to land at Flinders, but the wind was too strong. They tried lo regain the vessel, but were blown out to cca. torch steamers are out looking for them. A PLAGUE CARE. SYDNEY, July 23. (Received July' 23. at 3.9 p.m.) A ease of plague has been discovered at, Mmtlalce. The victim worked at 'Darling Harbour. SNOW NEAR SYDNEY. (Received July 24, .at 0.51 a.m.) Snow fell for 15 minutes to-day within two miles of Sydney. A RAILWAY ACCIDENT. PEKTH, July 23. (Received July 23, at 10.2 a.m.) Two railway carriages were derailed at Clackline. Five women were injured, but none seriously.
A FIRE ON THE WAKATIPU, HOJSAET, July 23. (Received July 23. at 10.9 a.m.) There was a. small fire in the hold of tlio, WakiUipu 100 miles out from Sydney. It originated in some straw, but was extinguished within half an hour. There is some damage lo the cargo by water.
