SOME HANDSOME BEQUESTS. Pims Asseciation-By Telegraph-Copyright. LONDON, July 21. (Keceivwl July 22, at. 4.23 p.m.) The late Mr Alfred Beit's will, which is dated April, 1905, creates a fund amounting to £1,200,000 for a railway and telegraph line between' the Cape 'and Cairo! The estate will be administered by Messrs Otto Beit, Julius Werner, and B. p, Hawkesley. Mr Beit also bequeathed £200,000 for the establishment of a university at Johannesburg, the same amount for educational and other purposes in Rhodesia, £155,000 to the London University for a college of technology, £25,000 to the London University for an institute of medical science, £75,000 for other educational purposes in South. Africa, £40,000 to the London Hospital, and £20,000 each for charitable purposes in London and Hamburg. The testator has bequeathed the residue of the estate to his brother, Mr Otto Beit.
