TO THB EDITOR. i. Sir,—l notice in tho Times this morning that yesterday's poll is stated to have closed at 6 p.m. If this to correct, Xam inclined to' think that tho poll is informal. " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900" (section 29), provides that all polls talcon under that • act shall close at 7 p.m. It is truo that " The Local Elections Aot, 19M" (scction V 17) provides for polls closing at 6 p.m., but this is.modified by. scction 3 of tho.sanie dot, which makes its provisions subjcct to any act by which tho Local Elections Act is mado to apply.—l dm, etc., \ .
