ROXBURGH, September 13, The showery weather experienced last week caused a considerable rise in the river, but it has now fallen several inches since last Saturday. The Jubilee dredgo is still on good wash, and another large return may bo expected this week. Thero is no reason why tliese returns should not keep up till the dredge has to work the summer ground, which will likely be about the beginning ot November. I believe tho Tcviot dredge got a return ot 470z last week. Since this dredge has got into private hands, the returns liavo considerably improved, but those who arc supposed to know reckon the ground is very patchy, The Golden Treasure dredge is expected to start Again very shortly. This dredge has been busy with her elevator, A couplo of syndicates have lately boen busy pegging out claims. One claim is the old Roxburgh Lead claim, and another adjoins tho old Endeavour claim. THE WEST COAST. (Fr.osi Our Own Correspondent.) GREYMOUTH, September 13. The Nelson Creek dredge was in the thick of a tailings' heap last Week, henco the small return. Tho Jamieson's Reward dredge will have to get new winches before starting. The No Town Gold Dredging Company lias gone into voluntary liquidation, and tho dredge will be sold up, as present shareholders are not likely to find the amount of the mortgage, The Montezuma dredge will he sold by order ot tho court in consequence of attachment for wages. The New Feddcrsen's dredge broke a shaft, and did not wash up. Tho Nelson Creek Company is applying to the court for the cancellation of a number of abandoned mining rights which wilt be required for work proposed. Tiie Greenstone Junction Company's prospects are not improving. MINING AT THE THAMES. THAMES, September 13. After the engine had been found running satisfactorily tho cago was lowered, and a careful examination of the shaft was made. Here, also, everything was found satisfactory, with the exception that a few battens will liavo to be replaced.
