ELTHAM, September 13. The High School Uoinmitteo held an inquiry into (lie alleged dismissal of a boy from the school. Much interest was taken in tho proceedings by the public. Tho head master denied that tho boy was expelled. CHIUSTCHURCH September 13. tho Magistrate's Court to-day Daniel Nelligan, a youth, about 20 years of age, war, committed for trial on a charge of assaulting William Hudson Fisher so .as to causo actual bodily harm. Tho evidence showed that Fisher, aged about 18 years, and Nelligan wero suitors for thr- hand of a youug girl. Fisher saw accused with her, and went up to remonstrate. Accused stabbed him in tho' head with a poekctkuife.
